I have these items tied together and the temperature reading is not correct. When the boat is out of the water it reads temperature correctly. When the boat is placed in the water the temperature reading jumps to the high 100's and will eventually climb to 212 degrees. Please help. The unit does have the latest Simrad update listed on their website.

Thanks Brad

Is your XID working properly? In other words is the Evo2 automatically recognizing the 175H-W? The wire carrying the XID info is the same wire that carries the temp data.
Is the connector on the end of the ducer wire factory wired or was it wired with a pigtail adapter? If its a spliced pigtail you may have a loose connection in that splice bundle.
What is the age of the transducer? My B175H-W was new in 2014 and it has a bad XID/temp data chip and has never worked correctly. I've read that there was a batch of bad ones produced around this time.

Woody, I'll have to check the wiring harness to see.
Transducer was purchased new last fall.
The Simrad recognized the device as SS175hw, see picture.

WoodyGo, Saw you on the ICW Sunday. You have the Aegis correct?

You may have burned out an element. If you run that transducer out of the water too much it will mess them up. Also could be a defect in the transducer itself. I have went through 3 total on my boat. 2-B60 and just replaced with a B160 last july. First one wouldn't read temps and would stop reading. Second wouldn't read at all. one way to check is see if someone will let you barrow any transducer that can plug into your unit and drop it over in the water. If things come back then I would be looking to replace the transducer.

It could be as simple as wires so you could start there.
