If you’re looking for a vessel that is dependable, relatively cheap to operate, you can fish all year long, and does pretty well in rough seas this is a great vessel for you. I work offshore mostly during the summer so this boat is used primarily during the fall/winter/spring off of North Carolina. If you’re out 60 miles in January and the wind starts blowing 20-25kts she will get you home safe. The boat does great in a side sea and in a head sea you have to slow down (22-24mph) when the waves get over 3-4’. We’ve caught sailfish, Bluefin, wahoo, and numerous other species on the boat.

Twin 2001 200 hpdi Yamaha outboards.
Get 1.1-1.4 mpg depending on load and sea conditions
Cruise speed is 28 mph at 3600 or 30 mph at 4200
PORT Hours: 642 (as of Feb 2018)
STBD Hours: 727 (as of Feb 2018)

In January 2005 the PORT motor’s Powerhead was replaced under warranty, that is why there is a slight difference in hours. We purchased the boat in May of 2012 and the motors had 110/190 hours respectively on them. A doctor owned the vessel before us and needless to say did not use the vessel. During the last 6 years we typically use the vessel 12-14 times per year to fish. We typically run 30-60 miles offshore each time and put about 100 hours on the boat a year. Since the boat was not used when we purchased it we had fuel issues and ended up getting both tanks (150 main and 60 spare) cleaned. Since 2013 we’ve been running 2 micron racor filters and that keeps the fuel clean prior to getting to the outboards where there are many fuel filters. Annual maintenance includes plugs, lower unit oil, water pumps (every 2 years), and new miscellaneous fuel filters depending on current status. Water/fuel separators are typically changed 3-4 times per year. Boat has been kept on the trailer for the last 6 years and a lift prior to that. A few times a year we leave it in the water for a week or two when I’m home for extended periods during the summer. We plan on moving up to a 31’ center console.
