Hey everyone, hope all is well.
Would like to share with all the scene in experienced while coming in CBI Sunday around 3ish.
As we all know, CBI can be difficult at times, especially during skinny water times. Yesterday while coming in, I could not believe the scene right as you come up to the last set of cans. Over 10 boats anchored... yes, anchored right smack in the middle of the only area passable. I thought I'd seen it all. How stupid can one, but over 10 vessel operators (I call you operators because clearly the term captain is not warranted) sit in the middle of a dangerous channel? No way would a large vessel been able to safely pass. My hope is that no one on this site who reads this was a part of that complete disregard of common Sense. Selfish actions such as this can get people killed. Or their a$$ kicked in for even having the mindset of yelling obscene language as I'm zig zaging through your mess. If any of you who were there, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Feel free to join in.

Regards,
Scott

As an FYI, I had a retired CG pilot on board. We called it the in, I hope some tickets were issued.

Scott,

I came in at 5. Overall the boats I saw were between the red can aand Masonboro.....EXCEPT one dumbass. His anchor rope was streached through the only deep water there was.

I approached slowly.....BLEW THE DANGER SIGNAL......IN case YOU are reading this and do not know what 5 blasts of a horn are.....I had a choice of running his anchor rope over or running aground or backing up with the tide pushing me. I passed SO FEAKING close to his boat that I have no idea how I did not wrap his anchor rope in my wheel.

I LIT HIS ASS UP!

It was so bad that I had to apologize to my party afterward.

Some people are just STUPID.

and if YOU are reading this.....I am that LONG HAIRED crazy MFer that chewed your ass!

Captain Dave

Whats up Scott! Hope all is well.

Unfortunate how many untrained boaters are on the water. We got a late start around 9am a few weeks ago, and watched a brand new 30+ ft boston whaler take ~5 minutes to dock his boat at the gas dock.. and he was obviously using the joystick as the motors were butterfly'ing. It baffles me how you can own such an expensive machine and not know how/care to learn how to use it.

Unfortunately I would bet the coming holiday week will produce an abundance of new boneheads to contend with.

Thanks Dave.
I believe the CG got in their ass. If you had tried to come in when I was there, you would not have been able to get in. Bad situation. Glad to hear from you Dave. Hope all is well.

The only prerequisite to owning and operating a boat is money or inheritance. Common sense is not part of the transaction. Nor is it very common.

I hear ya Joe. I fired back some pretty offensive words. But, I don't like doing it. I'm more ashamed of society than angry anymore.
For the life of me I cannot grasp how any one of those boats feel as if they're in the right. Especially the punk ass kid calling me a pussy. I mean, really?
