Lockwood Inlet Navigation and Fishiing Report
04-27-2016 11:05 AM

We've been running a few charters lately and got some good updates. Super excited to announce that we caught our first spanish of the year. Yesterday morning we had two and on our afternoon trip a good school moved in. They where hanging near the tideline of Lockwood in the dirty water. Good bite and caught plenty for our charters dinner. Now I need your help!!!! The Lockwood Inlet is getting sketchy.... There is a navigable channel, but please do not follow the cans they are no where near being safe. If you don't know the line right now I'd suggest following a shrimp boat or charter boat out so you can get the track line. The state has changed there policy on dredging where the county is more involved now. That being said Lockwood has yet to be dredged this year. Myself and Pin have been in touch with the county manager and the ball is rolling to get things going. Sounds like there is not much funds right now from the county end so this could be challenging. What we need out of our boaters is to help rally the commissioners to get behind this. I've started a facebook page and petition to present to them to show the support of the community. Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/Help-Keep-the-Lockwood-Folly-Inlet-Open-502711703250397/
Please like, share and help us get as many signatures as possible over the next month before the next commissioners meeting.
thanks and tight lines,
