Hey guys I just wanted to let everyone know I wont be asking anymore questions about brands of boats. I have got my (new to me) baby. Found this great purchase on this forum and dealt with some great guys along the process. It is a spotless and well taken care of 31 cape horn. Absolutely love it and cant wait for this potential hurricane to be over so I can get her in the water. It will a huge upgrade from my 22 ft angler!

Along with the new boat comes some outriggers..... Iv never used them before but cant wait to give it a shot. Ill probably run a single on each side. Dont want to get to crazy. My question is do you guys prefer mono or nylon braid? I wont be fishing with them all the time. Just a few times here and there!

Go ahead and double rig them if they aren't rigged already.

I use New England Ropes Spyderline, but a lot of people prefer 400 lb mono. The Spyderline is easier on my hands and lasts longer, but mono rigs cleaner and is stiffer.

Nice boat, love the ride....hate the gas bill. Fished on one for years, it can take nasty seas better than any boat in it's class, one of the most stable battle wagons i have ever fished on........but be ready for that gas bill. I don't think we ever got better than 1 mpg on that 31 with 250 4s. I know a guy that got one repowered with the new 300 yamahas and he gets better than 1 mpg. Enjoy the new ride.......You named her yet?
