I know a lot of you are like me, unless the weather or occasion demands shoes, im wearing my flops, the only problem though is that none of them last and more. I've done the rainbows, reefs, olukai, sanuks spent hundreds on flops over the years and cant seem to get a pair that will last more than a year. I switched to a pair of Crocs flops last year but I don't know if they will make it through this season.

Anyone else have this problem? Found a soulution yet?

I personally have found none of them last more than a year so each year I go to Rack Room and buy the cheap Margaritaville flops, buy 1 pair, get 1/2 off the other, and throw them away at the end of the season when it gets cold and I'm forced too put shoes back on.

Actually usually I buy 4 and keep 1 pair for my "Dress Up" go out pair !!wtg

Works for me anyway.

I have that problem also and have not found a solution either! Sanuk & Reef being my go-to's. I look for them on sale and just stock up. I can't get 6 months out of mine though.

I wore Olukai forever, they never seemed to wear out and the arch support really helped. The last couple of pairs I bought (last 3-4 years) have all worn out in 2 seasons. I guess they went cheap on materials when they got some recognition and popularity.
Now I'm back to buying cheaper for the boat and Olukai reserved for 'evening wear'.
Got a pair of Oofos last year and they've held up pretty good, similar material design to Crocs but softer. https://www.amazon.com/OOFOS-Unisex-Original-Thong-Black

I wear both Rainbow and Reef John. The Rainbow sandals will last as long as I'm not wearing them fishing. I started going with reef simply because they don't slip on the boat when I'm fishing and they have good support on my feet trolling all day.

All my Olukai Ohana have lasted multiple years. I think I have a pair that is ten years old and still going.

I've had this problem over the years. It was magnified when we started our Oak Island weekends several years ago and was fishing and beaching it much more. Wife got two pairs of Reefs at discount that lasted 3 month at best. Tried Rainbows and they are 1.5 years old now and still in good shape. Took a beating last summer. I'll be sticking with them. The soles show very little wear. I wear them all winter too at the pool, although not as tough as an environment.

Like you, I wear flops in all situations that are socially acceptable (and plenty that aren't). I've been wearing Rainbows for years with no issues. I'm now on my second pair, because my first pair were grabbed (accidentally or on purpose) at a dock party back around 2013.

I think the issue might be that they now seem to make two different quality levels of rainbows (single or double layer). The ones you find cheap are usually single layer.

I have been through most of the brands. I have had the 100 dollar to the 30 dollar flops. For some reason I always pull the toe thong loose. I wore some reefs last summer and they held up great but do not have a boat deck sole. Just one step away from breaking your a$$ bone.
