Looking for someone to install a autopilot. Any recommendations for someone around Morehead/Atlantic Beach area. Any idea about the cost of an install. Going in a Sailfish 2660 CC. Thanks.

What electronics do you have now? Do you plan to stick with the same.

A Simrad unit is going to run about $2500 plus installation and a Garmin unit will run about $1000 more I think last time I looked. These could be a touch low but a good unit isn't going to come cheap.

I have Garmin electronics, so yes staying with the same, older 4212. Bought the Garmin Reactor 40 autopilot with GHC 20. Going in a Sailfish 2660 with twin 150 yammi's. Got it from WMJ marine out of FLA. Way better price than Garmin. Any guess on a install price?

We have had auto pilot for many years. Being a small cc itís not the same as big sport fishers. We donít have much place to hang out and not pay attention.

If it were me I would go to garmins website and see who they list as a certified Garmin installer closest to you. This will help when things go wrong.

Depending on who does it and if they have done one on your model boat you are probably looking 1-2 days labor so Iíd say expect around 1000-1500.

I didn't take your response in a bad way. I had autopilot on my other boat also. Tough to go without it once you have had it. Great option to have especially if just two people fishing and nice not to have to hold the wheel on those runs back in from the stream. Thanks.]

East Marine in MHC did a complete electronics install for me a couple years back to include an autopilot. Was very happy with their work and price. I've got a 2360.

Thanks for the recommendation Searat and AboutTime. I haven't got it installed yet, was working on another electronic issue. I'm going to contact both places.

Don't know how many batteries you are runnng, I've only got two in a space for four inside the console. Richie mounted the pump in there which made for a nice clean installation. I'm sure it was a PITA standing on his head to put it in though!

I have 3 batteries. I talked to Rich this morning and that is probably who I'm gonna go with. He is going over to look at my boat and is going to give me an estimate for the work. Seems to be a very nice fellow Thank you for the recommendation AT2Fish.
