I'm hoping that it will flatten out a little bit so I can head to the gulf stream.

Was planning on Saturday but looking at latest forecast i may pass if it doesn't get better.
Nothing like hauling almost 5 hours then getting beat in 23'.

I must be getting old. I remember when i wouldn't even look at the forecast. Would just go

I've had a charter planned out of hatteras for a while for this weekend.
Reefcast has (as per usual) started off looking awesome and is gradually puking on itself the closer and closer we get to the weekend.

Clicking on the 41025 weather buoy, this has been my forecasts:
Monday: NE Winds <5 kts, seas 4-6 @10-12 sec (rollers, but far apart and light wind)
Wednesday: NE Winds 10-15 kts, seas 5-7 @ 10-12 sec (only marginally worse)
Today: NNE Winds 15-20 kts, seas 6-8 @14 (that wind...)

I started off the weak telling my crew we looked golden, and now I'm not so sure, even on a 50+' boat. Tried calling captain to discuss last night, couldn't get a hold of him. Probably better to wait until last forecast model today to get a better opinion.

I don't feel so bad now, looking at the current reefcast info. I'm just anxious to get out there and see what's biting.

Fished Thurs out of MHC, no debris, forecast was 4-7, nice gentle 4' rollers until just after the Knuckle, then more like 6' with a decent interval except every once in a while we had to throttle back, slowed down to 18 kts, 3 miles later it got better and better, were back to 24 kt by the 14 bouy and offshore it was really nice, came all the way home at 24+ with gentle seas, slowed down to 18 for the inlet. I was in a 25' c/c.

I'm hoping they are just big rollers when I head out there this weekend. If not
I guess i'll play behind the trawlers by the beach. I havn't been out in about 4 weeks so I need to go catch something.

^That stinks as it was great last weekend and the beginning of this week. Not sure what changed but maybe the wind switch will get them going this weekend.

Wx was great today (Sat) damn near calm, went out at 33 kts and came home at 38 kts, short day the Captain had to be at a wedding at 5:00, so we only fished until noon. Water is still hot and the action is NOT. Went one for two on wahoo, but only fished 3 1/2 hours.
