I have got several PM's about whether or not I had gotten around to posting the squid rig video. The answer is yes. I put it on here Friday night. I posted it in the house to section of the forums. I'm not ignoring y'all's PM's, it just gives me an invalid session when trying to respond. I remember Capt Dave saying it had something to do with the phone being used and not the site so I will see if it will let me respond via my computer after I get home tonight.

Great info thanks for the lesson. I can see if you have your length right, the tip of the hook is a little bit tucked inside the mantle making it pretty weedless, correct? We were shagging a lot of grass Saturday. I'll know next time. Thanks again.

this is correct. you can hook them to where the hook point is way up in the mantle if you want. just hook the squid as far up in to the head as you can. this should give you about a 1/2" of covered hook point

Ran 1 whole squid most of yesterday, caught 1 mahi & 1 chopper blue on the squid, looks great swimming. Caught a King, (4) Spanish on cigar minnows. I can't wait to put all squid in my spread. Thanks Seapro

Squid outfished ballyhoo 2 to 1 last week. Wednesday we had some crappy looking squid, they were small and I was sure they wouldn't work. We rigged them up anyway and put them out. Caught a 36# bull on one of them! I'm a believer. Thanks again for the info.

Seapro, I usually get my bait from Capt. Stacy they have the best prices on the causeway. I got squid last fri to try your method but the quality was not good the weight would pull through the tip. They were fine for bottom fishing But the tip was thin and soft. Where do you get your squid in AB? Glad we took a dozen hoo's got 9 phins half gaffers half slingers in the 25 to 30 mile range than we hit the bottom to finish out the day.

we gave the squid a shot this past weekend at the stream. they looked great rigged. the tentacles kept pulling off leaving just the hood. think we just need bigger/better quality squid. will give it another shot for sure!
