I just bought a new tire and noticed on the sides it stated to inflate to max 80 psi

The tire pressure on the new tire was 50, which is where all of my other tires are as well and they also indicated 80 psi

Should all four be filled to 80 or 50?

My trailer tires are rated E and have a max of 80 psi. I always max inflate to 80. But you never go over the max inflation rating on the tire. Personally if you new tire is max 50 and the old are 80 you got the wrong tire. I also wouldn't use anything less than a load range E on a dual axle trailer. Just my .02

The 14 inch tires will be 6 ply and 15 will be 6 or 8 ply unless it is a 225/75 15 then they are avalable in 10 ply either way 50 psi they have to flex while under way .speed will wreck a tire as bad as heat in the summer.80 mph in the summer is tough on a trailer tire unless they are new.

I dont know alot about most things but I started in the tire buisness in 77 in high school and that is about all I have done since. Im not right all the time but if it can happen to a tire I have probably seen it. most times when a tire blows out it was damaged at some point in the tires life time and it finally fails not all the time but 99 % of the time.

As I sat in traffic , Tireman's comment about tire damage runs through my head. I know these are not boat trailers but this does not seem to be a good idea having all that pressure and wood block pushing in on the side walls of the tires.
