Perko, unless you want to buy a Blue Sea just to risk having it break in less than a year.

Perko is good, but way overpriced. Blue Sea is quality stuff, better in my opinion, and much less expensive. I use it every day.Blue Sea is the way to go. Everything is tin coated copper...just like the better marine boat cable . This stands up to salt water enviroment way better tha non tin copper.

You don't really need the field-coil circuit if you can remember not to move it to the off position while the engine is running. Most battery switches are make-then-break designs so that as long as you avoid the off position, you won't fry the alternator diodes.

Blue Seas did have a run of switches that broke easily if you over tightened them. They replaced them all free of charge. Newer versions are fine. My last boat had a Blue Seas add a battery system for 5 years without any problems.
