Just when a guys thinks he's got it figured out which weekend of what month a tournament is going to be held everything gets turned upside down.
Now I gota go back and make me a new tournament calendar.. and try to talk my "out of town" buddies into changing their calendars as well.

THANKS GUYS. Na, it's O.K. Just try to inform everyone as soon as possible.

I do like some of the changes. tournaments on back to back weekends could be a problem. Can't have them ALL in the fall.

Miles if I was going to have a sattellite weigh in station it would be toward Southport rather than Morehead ,,, there are very few kings Morehead area that time of year , but Southport is starting to heat up

Agrees, but regardless of location, I am going to start joining in on some of the smaller, fun tournaments. Talked to Hector about this at the Saltwater Expo.

Looking forward to it............

Good Idea - Would give us all a chance to pre-fish for the year.

Miles

If I could help from the Southport end would be glad to do it.

You may open up a hot can of worms with double weigh in's. This was tried several years ago with Topsail and one other tournament. Didn't work.

With one set of scales, you can be off several pounds and it would not make a difference, everybody uses the same scales. Two sets of scales and if you are off .05, well better have liability insurance. You will get challenged. I lost Southport several years ago to .05. If there had been two scales, I would demanded that both fish are reweighed on one set. It cost me $25 K + for the .05 of a pound, but both were weighed on the same scale so there was not a problem.

It would just take a little "Leg" work. Take the same 25 lb weight and weigh it on both scales to "Match" them.....then if there is a problem...take both fish to the same scale.

It sounded like a fun tourney for you guy's up there last year. If you do have a weigh station in Southport, I would probley fish it. Sure does sound like a ton of work to me, so I would understand if you keep it small and local.

Guys & Gals, In order for this to be a FUN event we the organizers have to enjoy it as well because we would like to have about 2-3 more tournaments in 2010. Therefore we will be using the KISS (keep it simple stupid) method. I am aware that predominately the larger fish are on the southern end of the coast. We will have boudaries that are necessary for 2 reasons; #1. To. keep it fare and fun to guys in a geographical area. #2. To KISS (keep it simple stupid). As the waters warm and equalize along the coast, which will equalize the fishing we may change our boundaries. I hope you guys out of our area understand and will come and fish. As for satellite scales, thats something we are exploring and we may decide it will be better to forfiet that idea. As for sueing, I hope no one with that kind of a thought is there. Again you guys that fall beyond the boundaries, please come and we will assist you in competing in the northern part of the coast. I would hope that the guys whom fished our 2009 FUN Tournament will vouch for that. Our goal is a FUN and FARE day for all.

Well said Miles. !! Come on guys let's just have some fun... Life is too short as it is.
I never knew just how much it took to put on a tournament until I got involved with the OBO - KMT. For example I spent over 3 days last year working with the OBO-KMT and I was just being a go-for.. This year being on the committee I have already spent time in helping plan and prepare and this is just January. NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG -- I'M LOVING IT!!!!!!
As my signature says DO IT FOR THE CHILDREN.

Thanks guys! We will post a preliminary flier that will change frequently (I hope) due to the additions of sponsor payouts being posted. By the way guys, if you know of some companys that would give some sponsorship monies for placing payouts, that would be greatly appreciated and we have a lot of time to work on it. We tried last year to see to it everyone that fished got at least a $50.00 payout and fortunately, they did. No promises but, I wish we could do the same on May 29th.

Thanks Scott, Just help round up some new sponsors. It don't have to be money even though that is prefered and simpler to disperse. It can be items of value to the fishermen.
