I am in the market for a boat and my past experiences make me shy away from used outboards.

looking for a 20-22ft center console that can handle inshore as well as nearshore reef fishing.

I went and checked out the bullsbay 2000 and 2200. The 2000 was cramped just due to layout and the 2200 was roomy but 37,999 which is above my budget.

that being said does anyone know of any brands that can be had in the $25k-$27,500 range with ample room, decent storage and able to handle a few miles out on very nice days?

carolina skiff is off the table. What else is there?

for that price range you will probably have to go used or go less than 20'.
Sea Born makes a 19' cc bay boat in your price range

Sure, you can buy a new boat for that.

Might not have a motor included though.

Find a used Pioneer 197sf with a Suzuki DF150. I can fish in 18 inches or run 60 miles with mine. With trim tabs it will run in 2-3s all day long while sipping gas.

As you mentioned, Bulls Bay is a great option. Built by Carolina Composites, same guys that build the Pioneer and Avenger which are well built boats. As someone mentioned the Sea Born, but I was bay boat shopping last fall and glanced at a Sea Born 21' bay, quality reminded me too much of the Carolina Skiff that I sold and I was not willing to go that route again.

Take a look at Coastal Skiffs. They will customize to your specs.

Look at the 19 c hawk, has a 16 degree hull and decent side height, you can get them new for around 26-27

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Upon going back and checking out the bullsbay line of boats again, we decided the bulls bay 2000 could work very well for us. I managed to get a new stock 2018 model with a Yamaha 115 and having a t top installed for well within my original budget. We will be adding a leaning post own our own to set it up like we like. Overall I think we will be very happy with this boat and very excited to pick it up next week once everything is rigged and ready for us.
