Went out fishing today. Got back to the boat ramp and after pulling the boat out of the water I noticed that my windshield was broken. It appears that someone threw a shell at it. Sand and broken shell fragments on the impact area.

Sea Gulls??? They drop clam shells on my dock from high enough to break the shell.

They will be searching a long time to match the description of the seagull that dropped that clam shell. Happens more than youíd think. Take them up about 30ft and drop on pavement to crack them open.

Seagulls hmm maybe so. I didn't know that. Well that makes sense. Thank you for putting my mind at ease. Initially I was thinking vandalism because one day I caught some guys knocking over all the trash cans out there.

Looking at splash pattern it looks like it hit on a downward impact which would support the seagull theory. If thrown with a horizontal impact I would think there would be splash patterns going up your windshield from impact point. At least you didnít get glass inside that you would be finding for years.

I agree Titan. that looks like a seagull did it. I have seen them drop clams on cement plenty of times. That seagull needs its eyes checked.

Read that that Crows do the same. Called Interstate Glass in New Bern NC. They quoted me $235 to come out and replace it. Not bad just sucks that it happened.

that boat ramp had a bad habit of things getting stolen from the back of trucks but if you leave a 200.00 cooler all day somewhere like that it will get gone.

We caught some but no Wahoo. Had problems with the crew onboard. Put it this way, be careful about taking people out that you donít really know. (Drug/Alcohol Problem) Did get a good amount of Triggers though.. Thanks to Herc55 for putting us on them.

Titan, thanks for pulling my boat for me. Guess the seagull who smashed your windshield doesn't feel the same way.The wahoo have managed to evade me on this boat. But overall we still raised some fish even with the shenanigans we had with some crew members before we even got to the ramp. wall A king fish and false abl ie was all to be had on the troll. Triggers were being stubborn too. I think we managed about 25 or 30. After I pulled out and cleaned the 8 triggers and 2 sea bass. I went to clean out the fish box and found 1 more black sea bass and 3 triggers way in the back lol. I had fun and a good time fishing with you again.

Seagull I would bet. My dock has clams and crabs on it all the time. I have also seen them dropping them. It would be bad to get hit in the head with one!
