When bottom painting my Yamaha bracket I took the anode off so to not get the spray paint on it. Not thinking I painted over where the anode wire connects to the bracket. I used 2 coats primer and a non-copper based bottom paint on them. Do I need to remove this paint to get connection between the bracket and the anode? Any suggestions on how to remove the paint/primer if necessary?

They usually ground through the bolts since your wire end connection is bolted to engine through the anoid but you might consider replacing the anoid at least every other year

Thank you white lightning, that makes sense that the bolt would make the ground. Yes, I typically change them once a year.
