Me and a buddy are looking to purchase a boat that is either A) Turnkey ready or B) Not turnkey ready, but a deal we can't pass up and put a little work into it to make it turn-key (NO 100% PROJECT BOATS)
Looking to trailer to east coast and take to bahamas and run it from Tampa/Ft Myers down to the keys.
We will also be doing offshore fishing/diving from Tampa probably 20-50 miles offshore max.
The group consensus is wanting a center console, though open to suggestions.
So far we have been in market for a Mako 261, A contender 25 (1980-1990 hulls). I am open to any and all suggestions as I am not as well versed in boats as I'd like to be.
I live in Tampa but willing to travel / have a surveyor inspect boat prior to traveling.
Please let me know what you got and help me understand why I should buy YOUR boat. Thanks!

Catamaran hulls make great dive boats because they typically have more space on deck for gear and are more stable on the hook. You can get a lot more bang for your buck with a 25' cat than a 25' v hull. They also are more efficient with less hp. The guy I bought my old Albemarle 24 from is a diver and he went to a cat. You should check out a couple in person and you'll see just how much space there is on a cat compared to the same size v.
The winter of our discontent is at hand......
