Time marches on and we have to change things from time to time. The way we prepare ReefCast had to change due to the software hitting "End of Life".

Take a look at these and give me a little feedback on what you think.

I like them.....I think they are much more readable!

They are simpler to read IMO.

I approve. FWIW - after the previous upgrade, I always clicked on classic reefcast to go back to the way I liked to look at it, which is inline with how this appears. Nicely done.

Looks clean to me.
They have a mouseover tip for the hours within each day?

This is a replacement for Classic....not Modern

Very nice, and thank you Dave.

I also exclusively used classic but like the way this new chart looks.

It is up and running on the website here. Take a look and let me know if you see any problems.

ReefCast and SEECast have both been updated here on the website.

The APPS have not been fixed yet. We are looking for a way to fix them without having to update the app.

If you are on a phone using the website.....you will have to clear the cache to see the changes.

Only use Reefcast via the app on iPhone. On RF there, it shows days as ? over Noon - no days are noted.
Cleared the browser cache, but there is no place I see to refresh the app, or clear cache/data.

iPhone version 14.1.

Dave, any ideas?

ETA, I am using Classic view, but even after changing to Modern view, then back to Classic, neither shows the days of the week.

Cap,

We have not changed the apps yet. We have changed the website and SEECast.

Modern view in the app has dates. Classic view in the app does not have dates. We hope to get fixed in the coming days

iPhone and android apps should both be fixed now and display dates along the bottom of the Classic graphs

Dave, I was also a fan of the classic view in reefcast. In the app this morning I noticed a discrepancy in the wave period between the reefcast and reefcast with extra wave data. See attached. I believe it is a scale issue, I would prefer the y-axis scale remain constant to eliminate having to double check the scale each time reefcast is viewed to determine wave height/period.

jpardue,

I get what you are saying but the graphs expand and contact according to what is being presented.

I will keep an eye one it....I would just hate to make it 0 to 12....and miss data that went to 35....like when a hurricane comes by.

Dave

any possibility that it could be set to a user's desire?

I totally get what you're saying Dave - about how you don't wanna miss the super high values when a storm rolls through...
but for some folks - if that wave height gets over 6' (unless it's a really long period) it doesn't matter if it's 6' or 600'. They ain't going either way.
So maybe if a user had opportunity to set their own scales that might be helpful to some people. Not a programmer, so I have no idea how difficult that would be to do, just a thought.

I for one would probably set my winds to read from 0-20 mph (because 20 or more, and there's almost no chance I'm going), wave heights to be 0-8' and wave period to be 0-12 seconds, since I think any fishable conditions I'd be going in would have to fall within those ranges (obviously the period is a bit wonky, but I couldn't deal with not having the axis start at 0)
