STRIPED BASS MEETING TO BE HELD SEPT. 7 MOREHEAD CITY – A public meeting to discuss the upcoming commercial striped bass season in the Atlantic Ocean will be held Sept. 7, at 7 p.m., at the Roanoke Festival Park in Manteo. This year the total allowable catch for the commercial ocean season is 480,000 pounds. Topics to be discussed include harvest allocation for the beach seine, gill net and trawl fisheries, along with the timing of the season opening and daily landing limits. Fishermen and interested public are encouraged to attend these meetings to share their thoughts on this important fishery with the North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries.
