SF-4-2004 PROCLAMATION RE: 2004 OYSTER SEASON Preston P. Pate, Jr., Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that the oyster harvest season for commercial purposes WILL CLOSE STATEWIDE effective 6:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 31, 2004. The following restrictions will apply to the oyster hand fishery in Brunswick County only: BRUNSWICK COUNTY Effective at 6:30 P.M., Monday, March 15, 2004, through 6:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 31, 2004, no person shall take or possess more than one (1) bushel of oysters per day or exceed a total of two (2) bushels in any combined commercial fishing operation, regardless of the number of persons or boats which may be involved. GENERAL INFORMATION: A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of G.S. 113-182; 113-221 (e); 143B-289.52; and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103, 3K .100, 3K .0201, 3K .0202 and 3K .0205. B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority per 15A NCAC 3H .0103.
