Mid-Atlantic Council Meeting; June 14-16 in Wilmington, DE

The public is invited to attend the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council’s next meeting, to be held at the Wyndham Wilmington Hotel on June 14-16, 2005. Issues on the agenda include the 2006 fishery for squid, mackerel, and butterfish, management options for the tilefish fishery, Framework 6 to the Summer Flounder, Scup, and Black Sea Bass FMP (including options for sub-regionalization of state jurisdictions for the recreational fishery), Framework 1 to Spiny Dogfish FMP, multi-year quota specifications for surfclam and ocean quahogs, and mandatory use of vessel monitoring systems (VMS) for data reporting and enforcement.
