MFC Sea Turtle Bycatch Advisory Committee (AC)


The MFC Sea Turtle Bycatch Advisory Committee (AC) will meet on Tuesday, January 17 at 10:30 a.m. The meeting will be held at the NCDENR Regional Office in Washington, NC.
The committee plans to finalize, discuss and approve the draft management options section for the gears of primary concern and gears of no concern as established in the fact-finding portion of the final report.

The committee will then proceed to review management recommendations for each of the primary and other concern gears. The introduction, background, and fact-finding sections of the final report have all been approved as of 12/08/2005. Based on discussions at the last meeting, the beginning of the recommendations will address some of the broad-reaching issues involving interactions of sea turtles and inshore fisheries.
