Coast Guard Continues to Search for Missing Crewman PORTSMOUTH, VA – The Coast Guard continues to search for a 34-year-old crewman reported missing Thursday from the 450-foot Panamanian-flagged Motor Tanker Golden Elizabeth somewhere between the entrance to Delaware Bay and the entrance to Chesapeake Bay. The search began after the Golden Elizabeth crew reported that one of their crewman was last seen at 9 p.m. Wednesday night and did not report for an 8 a.m. crew muster Thursday morning. A C-130 Hercules from Air Station Elizabeth City, N.C., searched a pattern until 1 a.m. this morning after spotting what appeared to be a person in the water. The Coast Guard Cutter Tampa will relieve the cutter Seneca this morning to continue the search, joined by an HH-60 helicopter from Air Station Elizabeth City that will search an area 7 miles offshore between Chincoteague, Va., and Ocean City, Md. The Golden Elizabeth remains on scene to assist. Weather conditions in the area Wednesday and Thursday included 10-knot winds and 2- to 3-foot seas.
