Coastal Communities Navigation Conference
The Wilmington District US Army Corps of Engineers and North Carolina Division of Water Resources have scheduled a coastal communities navigation conference at 1:00 pm on April 10 , 2007. The meeting will be held at Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church located at 3902 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28403.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss dredging needs and present our dredging program for shallow draft navigation projects in eastern North Carolina. Due to funding shortfalls in our current fiscal year budget, the Wilmington District US Army Corps of Engineers will be unable to dredge several shallow draft inlets, harbors, and portions of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. Our goal is to utilize the limited funding in a manner in which the project users will receive the most benefit from the dredging activities over the next two fiscal years.
This meeting will serve as a forum for navigation beneficiaries to get a better understanding of our dredging program over the next couple of years. If you have any questions, please give Mr. Roger Bullock, Chief of Navigation, or myself a call at (910) 251-4822 and (910) 251-4709, respectively.
