PENSACOLA, Fla. (Mar. 1) – A Coast Guard 25-foot response boat is intentionally capsized today at Naval Air Station Pensacola in order to test the boat’s stability and water-tight integrity when inverted. The results of the tests will be used to develop Coast Guard policy associated with emergency procedures as well as the use of new personal survival equipment.
