COAST GUARD RESCUES 2 DIVERS


PANAMA CITY, Fla. – The Coast Guard rescued two divers today after they were separated from their dive boat approximately 11 miles south of Panama City.


The dive boat Tropical Sun reported the missing divers to the Coast Guard at approximately 9:35 a.m. while anchored near a wreck south of Panama City.


A Falcon jet rescue crew from Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile, Ala., located the divers splashing water and waving their fins approximately 15 miles south of Panama City. The jet crew deployed a smoke flare near the divers, which directed a boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Panama City to their position.


The boatcrew recovered the uninjured divers and transported them to the Sun Harbor Marina in Panama City.
