PORTSMOUTH, Va. – U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office Hampton Roads will be holding an open public meeting to address issues relating to environmental safety and oil spill response in Virginia and on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. This meeting will focus on the recent work of the Mid-Atlantic Coastal Area Committee including improvement of the Virginia Area Contingency Plan. The goal of the Mid-Atlantic Coastal Area Committee is to unite a dynamic and diverse team from the maritime community dedicated to the development of a comprehensive Virginia Area Contingency Plan that builds preparedness to achieve success. The meeting will be held on April 20, 2005 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside located at 235 East Main Street in Norfolk.
