BOSTON — Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod is scheduled to host an award ceremony Friday at 10 a.m. where two crewmembers will be recognized with two of military aviation’s most prestigious awards for their heroic actions during a lifesaving rescue mission south of Nantucket in February 2015.
Who: Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter air crew who navigated through low visibility and near hurricane force winds to save two men aboard a sail boat disabled and adrift in 25 foot waves 150 miles south of Nantucket.
What: Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal presentation to two Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod crewmembers.
When: Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at 10 a.m.
