Coastal Projects Granted $37,694,000 in Federal Funds for Southeastern North Carolina
U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre
As Co-Chairman of the Congressional Waterways Caucus, I am pleased to announce the approval by the U.S. House Appropriations Committee of federal funds for southeastern North Carolina: $25 million for Wilmington Port, $3 million for Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, $200,000 for Brunswick Beaches, and $1,000,000 for Lockwoods Folly Inlet. This is a huge success for our district as the Administration’s budget on the beach and waterway projects have not been favorable. The Wilmington Port, our beaches and our waterways are vital to our economy, and I am thrilled that these funds have been obtained to keep these projects moving forward.
