There are almost as many regs regarding duck hunting as there are regarding bottom fishing. My advice is to link up with someone in the area that is experienced and start off with them. You can shoot the wrong duck at the wrong time of the year and get a doosie of a ticket. and that's only one of about a million ways to get a ticket. I'll be happy to answer questions, but first hand experience is the way to go. Good luck.

Give me a call at the shop next week after this storm passes and we'll talk ducks. After all your son will need a good taxidermist!

Yeah that's what I was worried about...seems most people think if they take you then you will go back on your own and hunt their holes...I have found very few (meaning none) folk that will take us along...hell I won't even have a gun...I'm just a glorified duck stamp holder for my son 😛 ...I don't mind doing the scouting work...just need to know how to start...

Gery...I'll give you a call tomorrow...Scott...I'll PM you my number so you can call me at your convenience...

If you want to make sure you kill ducks, my advise would be that untill you learn more and have more experience hunting in your area, I would suggest hooking up with a guide either in the Pamlico sound or lake Mattammuskeet. Hunting with a guide is also a great way to learn some tactics and techniques. If your not afraid to travel a little further I would say go to Oklahoma. Went there last year and absolutely murdered the mallards up there.
