Sweet....that must be a helluva back yard!!
3/4 acre of creek and woods with a 30 acre soybean field behind that . Technically speaking I hunt the edge of the field. It's nice to have good neighbors.
That's some nice headgear, I like them wide.
Patience pays, let the smaller ones walk and you will be rewarded. About 10 years ago I was lucky enough to have permission on about 500 acres on 4 parcels in Wake county. I was just figuring out what management tactics worked and seeing some amazing results when most of the properties were sold and planted in ticky tacy subdivisions. Since I have been relegated to hunting gamelands or long distances from home. This is the first buck I have harvested in 5 years, I just haven't seen one I could bring myself to take. This one's rack was not proportional to his body. My best guess is he weighed around 180lbs. Hunting archery I just couldn't stand it having that much meat broadside at 20 yds.
He wouldnt get one more year if he walked in front of me:) Its good that you can let one like that walk...I just couldnt do it.
Here's a couple I hope to see on my 37 acres in Anson Co
Let me know if you'd like some help
