Guys,
I used to hunt a lot. I mean all the time. But marriage, work, kids, lack of funds, etc. has killed that in recent years.
Buy my kids are showing an interest and for some reason I am jonesing to get back into it.

Problem is I don't have anywhere to go anymore. I'm looking for land near the Raleigh area where I can hunt and get my kids into it. I'm starting early! Not waiting until right before the season.

If anyone has information on clubs, land, backyards etc within a few minutes of Apex, I'd like to know.

Thanks,
Andy

There is a site www.thencoutdoors.com which is mostly hunting. There are some guys from your neck of the woods that may be able to point you to a good spot. Good luck.

I know its not ideal... especially with kids but there are TONS of public game-lands around here with a ton of big deer in them. The only annoyance is that you really need to use a climber unless you are going to put up a semi-permanent stand and risk someone else getting in it or taking it.

Thanks guys.
Call me a snob, but I just don't like hunting public lands. I hunted public lands all the time when I was younger, but would rather have something to myself and not have to worry about who I may run across in the woods, especially when I'm out with my kids.

I'll definitely check out www.thencoutdoors.com to see what I can find there.

Thanks,
Andy

Hooker,
Yeah, I'm looking closer to home. I know there are plenty of deer in that area, but I'm really looking for a place where I can slip in and out before or after work.

Hooker I would be interested in some hunting land in that area. I have been hunting the public game lands for a couple of years now, just waiting for an opportunity.

I'm going to check out that site too. Thanks for info fella's!
