Did a search but couldn't find any dove field recommendations for this year. Place we hunted last year is not doing it again

Anyone got any suggestions or places you recommend?

Thanks!

I too would love to find a place in southern Brunswick or south east Columbus counties.... would like to find some room though so I could take that 3 yo lab out and work with him for the first time.

I can't help you guys this year but next year I should be set. I purchased a farm and hope to have it ready to go for next dove season. It would have been done this year but I ran out of time. It will be a drive but free. Maybe shells will not cost $10/ box by then. I checked yesterday evening and they look to be $6-8 a box. If anyone knows of a great deal then please post. 9/2 is just around the corner.

Not much of a drive for me! About 20 minutes from the house there is a huge melon field. Last year it sounded like a war zone. I'm working on getting in there.

Just a word of caution. Be careful with the heat and your hunting companion during opening of dove season. Dogs can easily overheat (learned the hard way and I thought I took every precaution). I would not take my dog on opening day unless there was a body of water he/she can cool off in frequently and lots of shade/ventilation. Make certain you have spent A LOT of time conditioning before the season. With that said...hope you have a successful hunt and training session. Nothing like watching your best friend find those difficult to find birds and drop them at your feet!
