Went scouting yesterday and found a few birds...got there this morning and nothing...waited around and heard some shooting a ways off...bout ready to call it a morning and 7 of them came in...got one on the first shot and a nice big fat tree on the second as they were getting the heck out of dodge...anyhow...I can see how this becomes addicting !!!

wait until that bird is in full plumage. It is "in my opinion" the best bird for the wall. We are lucky to have so many here in NC/SC. The woodie is a prized possession in every part of the country. But here in NC/SC, we would rather "win" a redhead, pintail, etc. Guess "Grass is always greener" is very true in hunting as well.
