Decided to deer hunt this year for my first time .... All I have to say is Im screwed! I am instantly addicted and all I can think about are those huge, white antlers I saw swing around that tree this morning! Glad I have found something to keep me sane while Im not fishing! I get it now. I understand the obsession.

Yeah, you are really screwed now b/c the best deer hunting (rut) takes place during prime fishing. You have to spend time in the woods outside of the rut to know what is going on with the critters (thus not fishing). It's hard to decide whether to spend Oct. and Nov. chasing deer or fish. It drives me crazy! It really gives be a great deal of anxiety.

It gets very addictive! We had 2 farms, 240 acres, 30 blinds, and a hunting cabin. The season started in the spring planting clover/corn/soybeans. Scouting all summer hunting all fall.. The main difference is when you sell your land you make money!

I don't care how big the wahoo is when a 150 class buck comes out of the swamp there's nothing like it... Not even close!

Havent hunted but a handful of times since the move to NC, I gotta find some land to lease. Shots all over this morning!

I miss the venison Jerky!

You boys have fun in the woods. I'll go shoot a little deer for meat, I let big ones walk all the time so my hardcore hunting buddies can have a shot at it. I'll eat my summer sausage and jerky on the boat while waiting for the 130 to start grinding when several hundred pounds of pissed of sushi on the other end.

Never caught anything over 50 lbs, might change my mind if I get hit by the fish you guys catch! All I can say is a BIG buck can and will turn a grown man to jello!

I love to do both! I hunt on the blow-out days and after work. The key is to make it where both are close to home. Also I have stands set-up for all different wind directions. I can be in my deerstands within 10-30 minutes from my front door, and in the water in 30 minutes.

It will help keep me sane when I can't fish. My real life is 3 hours from the water 🙁
