I have cleaned a few deer this year that had some red nodules in the fat right outside of the tenderloins.

I'm assuming they are blood clots, just dont think I have ever really noticed them before.

Any idea what they are and if they are normal (meat safe to eat)?20141128_093206_475.jpg

I've been told that it's lymphatic tissue. Don't really know if that was correct.

They are in almost every deer I clean. I have no idea what they are but I would not worry about them.

Yes they are part of the lymphatic system. It is the waste. No harm in having them there. Just cut around/remove them with out damaging them and all is good. You never want to eat the lymphatic system, spine or the brain due to the blue tongue/chronic wasting disease.
