I have been hunting every morning for the past several days in different areas and i have only seen maybe a total of 35 ducks. Are they not here? Does the warm temps effect their flight? Thanks for any info.
mostly still up north, but there are a few down here to be shot!
The weather definetly effects things. Ive been out of town, all week, but I've still heard good reports of them being killed.
I do not duck hunt, but have been doing an aquatic survey for a problem aquatic weed problem in Pender County. The swamp was FULL of wood ducks Saturday. I kayak around the area doing a survey and must have jumped more than a hundred. My son was surveying other end of the swamp and he said it was crazy with all the ducks flying over his head.
Good luck with them

Warm dry fall weather and its still dry in the swamps hasn't helped with the season so far,we had a full moon last week as well. More seasonal cold weather is coming espcially next week during our split so look for some ducks here soon. Not getting any positive reports from anywhere across the state so it seems the ducks just haven't got here yet. As for myself I'm looking forward to some diver action in December and January.
The Tuesday after opening day of the Nov. season, we had a good hunt up at Butner-Falls Beaverdam Impoundment. We had a limit of woodies and a few teal to boot.
Closing day, we were covered up with green wings in my honey hole. In a quick hunt, we ended up with 7 or 8 GW's and a woodie between two guns.
