Thanks for any replies

You are probably gonna need to post a larger picture than that.

No....No size limit.

It is part of your 20 reef fish per day quota.

That is what I thought. DMF guy said it was a pinky and wrote me a warning ticket. Guess I just lost a fish in this deal.

It does not look like a pinky to me....now mind you it is a really small pic and the fish is sideways in it.

This is a Jolthead Porgy

This is a pinky

The chocolate dot matches up like he looked when first caught. At the inlet it looked a lot like a pinky but not when it came up. I have enlarged the photo so you may get a better look at it. Thought we had a good side shot of it but did not. I have caught lots of pinkys before and this did not look like a pinky when caught or I would have thrown back. With the chocolate dots I did not even measure it. Looked like a good grill target to me until we got inside and got checked and it was taken. At least I only got a warning ticket.

I would have been happy to help you fight it.

It is NOT a pinky.

It is either a Jolthead or a Whitehead Porgy
http://www.safmc.net/FishIDandRegs/FishGallery/JoltheadPorgy/tabid/296/Default.aspx

or a Whiteboned Porgy
http://www.safmc.net/FishIDandRegs/FishGallery/WhitebonePorgy/tabid/260/Default.aspx

I am leaning to a Whiteboned Porgy. We call them Chocolate Porgy
