Does anyone know of anyone that has been offshore in the 90' drop or Big rock area last few weeks? Trying to find out if the mahi and blackfin have moved into this area yet. Thinking about making a run tomorrow but don't want to waste time and gas. With the winds lately, not sure that anyone really knows. Any insight is much appreciated!
We fished last Saturday from The Rise down to the Scallop Beds with no luck. One straightened hook and a short strike. Both on the plainer rod. Wahoo were scattered from what I could tell on the radio. Did hear of some yellowfin tuna around the Swansboro Hole. Also heard that there was a good wahoo bite around the SE Corner of the Big Rock on the 5th. Good luck!
I was at Swansboro Hole this past Saturday and can confirm there were tuna there, yellowfin and blackfin. Didn't connect with any wahoo or mahi.
