Well, ReefCast is saying waves a little over 2 feet ever 6-7 seconds Saturday morning, with the wind around 8 knots. NOAA's weather for "Cape Fear to Little River Out 20 Nautical Miles" is saying waves 3-5 with a 15-20 knot wind. Who is betting on which forecast?
My wind app is saying 16 Mph out of the NE. and WaveCast is agreeing with that. I do not have a ReefCast subscription. I was hoping on going Sat but it does not look very promising.
Looks like the winds will be out of the NNE around 14 mph with gust upward to 22 mph between 9 am-noon diminishing to around 2 mph with gust to 10 mph around 3 pm while the winds shift from the NNE around to the NNW TO W back to the NW by dark.......looks like a lot happening to make concrete plans....
Beach fishing out a few miles should be good, mid day it'll lay down before picking back up after dark.....I would say fishable but prepare for a shift ether direction and hope for the best....but not a offshore day for me for sure....I'm probably going to give it a shot being I wont have an opportunity to fish for another few weeks....
We've scrapped offshore plans, planning on looking out the inlet a little after noon and fish nearshore for a few hours.
Weekend - sounds like a crappie weather forecast....sounds like
they have been biting
We will be in the creeks around Southport... Looks a bit uncomfortable for my tastes for a run offshore to the grouper grounds..
