Have a pair of Yamaha 150's. After back from fishing I tilt the engines up all the way. The port engine. is slow and struggles to come up. The starboard engine is fine. I use the tilt while out but not all the way up. After lifting the motor up and down fully twice all the way at the dock, it is not slow and works as normal. But will do it again on next use.

Any tips appreciated. Is the tilt drive operated by a worm gear or just hydraulic or both? Could it be just low on some fluid on that one tilt or am I probably looking at tilt replacement of drive unit?
Thanks

looks like there might be a screw on top of the ram unit to add fluid maybe. Is this where to put it in and what kind of fluid to use. Thanks

That is where, yes. This is what you need:

Lots of youtube to help if you do a quick search.

Don't neglect the grease fittings! Keep them greased. Without it they can seize up making movement hard to impossible and costly. Sounds like low fluid though.
