Folks, been several times last 3 weeks out of OI on Skiligal ... uncanny and not seen before the big YF Tuna (40-65# aberage) are jumping at the Point in July feeding on Flyers in 87 degree water ... awsome sight, bite, and fight kite fishing with artificial Flyers on stand-up gear (30's with braid) ...
Do you know someone on that boat? We've never done any kite fishing so it's going to be a learning experience. We were hoping to get someone with first hand experience getting the kite up. Nonetheless we will go if mother nature allows and give it our best shot.
They are fishing the Virginia Beach Invitational today through the weekend ... I'd go but have a conflict ... hope you get 'er flying and the fish are still busting ...

Not really "getdagaff", just proof that you have to be there. Some awesome sights fishing with a kite for sure, (one of my favorites) but the absolute key is you have to be there regardless. That was the only point I was trying to make. By the way, that days catch was on a slow kite bite day. We never put one up, but we were there when the fish were. So simple, yet so neglected fact of fishing. Just as simple as "wahoonbox's" point about sharp hooks. So very, very simple yet we neglect simplicity these days because we want instant results. The fish don't have inter-net! This picture was a few days later, guess what? We played the hand dealt to us. By the way Skiligal Dave, is a helluva fisherman.
