Hey guys! I am in the Army Reserves in the 846th Transportation unit out of Salisbury, NC and my unit is being deployed to Afghanistan in June. My family and I will be in Emerald Ilse the last week in May along with some friends of mine and i would love to go out fishing one last time. Usually my father and I take a trip to Davis Island every year but under the circumstances i will miss that trip. Any ideas for fishing around that area? I love fishing and would like to go out one last time before headed across the water. PLEASE HELP with suggestions! Thanks everyone!
Thank you for your service. :wtg: Lots of options in that area. You looking to go offshore, surf fish, fish the marshes, take a guide, got a boat, etc? A little more info might be helpful. I'm sure you'll get lots of responses once we know a little more about what you are specifically looking for.
Im really looking for fishing the marsh for drum but off shore would be nice also! I do not have a boat.
if you haven't tried vertical jigging yet....you must
keep an eye on trips on these forums else find a guide that specializes in jigging trips
head boats are always a blast too! 18-24 hour trips every weekend from the headboat fleet in MHC. Upcoming 48hr trip in mid june too
Marsh behind bear island is good for drum. Can probably rent a canoe or kayak at the state park and paddle over.
Thank you for your service to our country. I will be there from June 2 through Big Rock. You are welcome to climb aboard with me one day. I have skinny water access for drum but mother nature will determine what we can fish for.
Shoot a PM.
