Left my boat keys at home

Ouch! I'm always afraid I'll do that! I have a spare set in the truck and really need to put a set on the boat somewhere.

go to the nearest marina that services you type of engine and buy a new ignition switch and change it out. very simple to do and you'll be on your way.

Did the same thing last year. Went to a boat dealer and he had lots of keys for Merc, but would not fit my Evinrude. Told me each mfg only has about a dozen or so keys so go to local Evinrude dealer at Sneads Ferry. Man comes out with a ring with about a dozen or so keys and checks until we found one that worked. He also told me they only have about a dozen key patterns.
If you can't find a dealership open, check with friends who have similar engine to see if any of their keys work. I now keep the spare in the cabin of the boat.
