Ok. This is pathetic. But I need a Truck to put my boat over friday. Its too nice to stay at the hill. I have a 23' kencraft. Its a deep v and heavy but I put it over usually with my Expedition. I'm willing to let you fish for 50 dollars if your willing to put the boat in the water for us! Plan on running to the stream in search of Wahoo and dolphin. There will be 3 other guys on the boat...so 4 total. You can bring a friend for an extra 75 dollars. We aren't experts by any means but we have caught wahoo, dolphin, tuna and kings. We will supply the fishing tackle and the bait. Give me a call at 910-964-0835. Help a brother out! Plan on leaving the dock around 5:30 and fish 100/400 to the Black Jack area. Hope to be back at the dock by 4-5 pm.
Hope you have a captain's license putting set prices like that out there. just a heads up. the legalities of splitting cost are murky but usually you can get away with splitting costs but not a set fee.
Wave, I apologize. I understand many captains on here make their living doing chartered trips and I'm just a weekend warrior who rarely gets to go. I was in a bind since my Truck is in the shop and just wanted to make an offer that may get someone to help out. We usually just split the gas amongst my friends that go with me. I believe this is common practice among friends who owned boats? At least that has been the case since I was in high school in Carteret Co. and started going out in the boat. We always split the cost of beer, ice and gas. Just honor amongst theives I guess. When we take my boat out now...on an offshore trip we usually all chip in 100 dollars or so. Just been the way we have always done it. BUT I understand that when I'm offering to take someone out that I don't know, for a price, it becomes murky. And I guess in my desperation I didn't think about that. I aplogize to all the Captains on here who have done an amazing job of helping me get better at fishing. That last thing I want to do is cut into their careers. But you can't blame a guy for wanting to fish, especially when his opportunities are few and far between?
That's not what i was getting at at all. I apologize if it came out that way. I was just trying to give you a heads up because i would hate to see anybody get in trouble on here and it is technically illegal to charge for a trip without your ticket. That's why i suggested saying share the costs instead of posting a fee amount. Its all in how you spin it.
