Looks like maybe this weekend will be good for an offshore trip. Going to target grouper, big bass and mahi at a newly discovered ledge. We were catching 2 and 3 lb bass at this hole. Will run sw of the tower. Will leave from southport marina at 6am and return late. Bring your own drinks, food and spin reels. I have trolling rods. Split ice and fuel. Expect to burn approximately 60 gallons on my seafox 256. Split that three ways @ $4.20 a gallon. The more experienced you are the better. Fisherman putting their heads together always produces more fish.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like we have a full boat. If anyone reading this post has a flexible schedule and can go anytime the weather is good PM me.

I was with Chris last week when we found this ledge and I am here to tell ya it seems these fish never seen a hook, on several drifts we were bringing up some mac Daddy sea bass along with the usual bottom suspects.

Chris we are planning an overnighter bottom fishing with lights on my boat near the Tower Friday night then hit the trolling bite at first light. When that slows we'll bottom fish again.
I have my radios set to scan but you can holler Scott K on 16, 6, 10, or 68.

Are you still on for Saturday morning. I am planning to leave SP Marina around 5:50.
