Wilmington is experiencing a major crime spree, I have been hearing about cars being broken into in the northern part (Gordon rd, Murryville area) there were 4 vehicles broken into in my neighborhood about 2 weeks ago so we were on heightened alert for about a week... Well they got me and 3 neighbors Monday night... Sheriff said that it is happening "almost every night for the last 2 months" on this side of town.
While leaving the hood, one of my neighbors noticed a red GMC Suburban with NY tags on her street Monday and thought it was out of place enough that she went back to make sure her garage door was closed.
(2 guys, 1 with beard, both with ball caps, not white or black... something in between she didn't think "mexican" either... Not being racist, stereotyping or anything like that so please don't get started on that.... Just was sure they weren't bright white or dark black... (I think i'm digging a hole here..)
Look out for anyone that looks out of place... Call 911 and get a Sheriff or Officer to check them out, I was promised that they are taking tips very seriously cause they want them stopped!
Keep your cars locked, they are not breaking windows, just grabbing stuff (GPS, electronics, sunglasses, coin/bills, and at least 2 handguns) out of unlocked cars.

A guy I work with had his car broken into up there a couple weeks ago, not sure where in Wilmington he lives though.
Article in the local paper Sat. saying that 3 guys were caught (2@ 17 years old & 1 minor) listed over 40 charges for each. Mostly misdemeanors so they will be out in no time if they ever go to jail. Some stuff was recovered.

Just had my my beach cruiser along with my girlfriend's stolen off her porch yesterday. That is $1,000 worth of bikes.....gone....from a neighborhood off of Greenville loop. Called the cops made a report.
I am going to her house this evening and scoping everything I see, and bam! I see a bike that looks like hers. Nearly run the kid over and asked where he got the bike. Stern voice told him that was my bike and he gave it up. Said he found it yesterday by Bradly creek with a popped chain. He seemed like a nice kid and his buddy too. So I took the bike in my truck and gave him a lift to where he was going. He gave me his name and number and I am still going to report him to the cops just in case he has some info(or guilty). As far as my bike, its still a no show. This is an alert if you are in the east Wilmington/WB area, Keep an eye open for my bike. It's cool, it is matte black with orange rims, white flames on the fenders and seat. The brand is Electra and the model is "rat rod" not too many in town, never seen another). This bike set me back over $600. If you see the bike please punch first and ask questions later, j/k, well maybe not.
I saw that bike yesterday by Mellow Mushroom at WB. My neighbor has a matte black electra with black rims so I know the bike well. You don't see many high end electras around so it stood out especially with the orange. I wonder if the guy on it bought it from teh theif though because no way you'd steal a bike then ride the loop on it
