Corps Wants Ideas On Inlet
Federal authorities want to know any concerns people have about relocating the New River Inlet channel and nourishing the shoreline at North Topsail Beach. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are holding a meeting Wednesday at Dixon High School to solicit public comments on issues they think should be adressed. The meeting will begin with a 45- minute presentation outlining the proposed project, the public will break up into small groups where they will be allowed to talk about their ideas. The plan calls for deepening and repositioning the NRI channel so that it is centrally located. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the D.H.S. cafeteria. For more info. go to www.JDNEWS.com .
