Crustacean Advisory Committee The Marine Fisheries Commission (MFC) Crustacean Advisory Committee will meet on Monday, July 18, 2005, at 6:00 p.m., at the Craven County Cooperative Extension Service, 300 Industrial Drive, New Bern, NC.
The committee will review and discuss the draft Shrimp Fishery Management Plan (FMP). The Draft FMP has been prepared by the Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) with the advice of a Shrimp FMP Advisory Committee. Discussion of the FMP began in February 2004. Management measures and the Draft FMP will be reviewed by the MFC regional committees, and public meetings will be held in conjunction with the regional and Crustacean Advisory Committee meetings to receive additional public input. The following are dates and locations for the public meetings and MFC committee meetings: Wilmington Regional Office – on 7/12; Craven County Agricultural Extension Service Office, New Bern – on 7/18; Hyde/Davis Business Enterprise Center, Engelhard – on 7/20; One Festival Park, Manteo – on 7/21; Duke Marine Lab, Beaufort – on 7/26; Cooperative Extension Training Room – Government Complex, Bolivia – on 7/27; Sneads Ferry – on 7/28; and Goldsboro – on 8/15. The MFC plans to review the FMP at its August 30-31, 2005 meeting in Atlantic Beach, NC.
