Intercommission Review Committee (IRC) The Intercommission Review Committee (IRC) will meet in Morehead City on December 5 at 10 am at the CMAST Building (room 305) on the campus of Carteret Community College. The IRC is composed of two members each from the Environmental Management, Coastal Resources, and Marine Fisheries commissions.
The IRC provides oversight for development and implementation of the Coastal Habitat Protection Plan (CHPP) by the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, as required by the Fisheries Reform Act of 1997. At this meeting, the IRC will discuss the status of CHPP implementation, future management structure for the Coastal Habitat Protection Plan program, and other items that commissioners and DENR staff may bring up. Staff will provide status reports to the IRC regarding implementation by their agencies.
