The Marine Protected Areas
Federal Advisory Committee is seeking nominations for two individuals to represent (1) environmental interests and perspectives on marine protected area issues (this is an extension of an earlier notice circulated in August 2005), and (2) commercial fisheries interests and perspectives. The MPA Federal Advisory Committee is responsible for providing expert advice to the Departments of Commerce and the Interior on the development and implementation of a national system of marine protected areas. Nominations for these vacancies should be received by September 30, 2005.There is also an open call for ongoing MPA Federal Advisory Committee nominations for future vacancies on the Committee.
